A launching pad for what matters most to you
Last week, I ran a resilience workshop with a group of entrepreneurs.
These were people who had rebuilt their lives from scratch.
New countries, new languages, new everything. And yet, the thing that came up again and again wasn't funding, strategy, or marketing.
It was loneliness.
That hit me. Because I recognised it.
If you've ever worked for yourself, worked remotely, or simply lived far from the people who really know you, you know the feeling. You're surrounded by people but you don't feel seen. You're building something meaningful but doing it largely alone.
We need community more than ever
We live in a world that's more connected than ever and somehow lonelier than it's ever been.
We work from kitchen tables. We've moved cities, countries, and continents away from our support networks. And the algorithms that promise to bring us together often just make us feel further apart.
We need community.
Not networking. Not another LinkedIn connection. Real, breathing, messy, beautiful community.
Charles Vogl writes about this inThe Art of Community. He talks about how genuine belonging isn't accidental. It's built. It needs shared values, rituals, and stories. It needs a boundary that says:this is who we are, and you're welcome here.
It needs people who show up not just for the content, but for each other.
Why we built Purposeful Futures
That idea has been living in my head for a long time. And it's exactly why I partnered with Aga to createPurposeful Futures.
Here's what we believe: purpose matters.
In our work, in our lives, in how we raise our children, in what gets us out of bed on the hard mornings. And our purposes are all different, which is what makes it interesting.
Purposeful Futures is a community for people who believe that too.
A place to explore what purpose looks like foryou. To have people cheering you on, AND challenge you. To go deeper into ideas without wading through the noise and the algorithms to get there.
Imagine a room full of people who just get you
Where you can skip the small talk, cut through the fluff, and launch straight into the stuff that actually matters.
That's what we're building.
Deep dives into the topics that move us. Bimonthly gatherings where we invite guest speakers or hear from people in the community. And a group of people who genuinely care about living with intention.
If you've been following me for a while, you already know this is what Touching Distance is about. Purposeful Futures is where you get tostep into it. To be with this community and me in a way that goes beyond a weekly email.
Don't be a bystander
Ifyou've been here for a while, if you've worked with me or followed this journey, you know I pour my heart and creativity into everything I do. I wouldn't build something I didn't totally believe in. For me, connection is everything. And being in a position to bring all my people into one space is a dream come true.
So if you're stuck, take a step. If you're curious, follow it. Be part of something that moves you, even if you're not sure where it'll take you yet.
Between now and the 23rd, you can join as a founding member. It doesn't cost very much. But it might just change the direction you're heading.

I'm writing this to you because I care about the people in this community. And I'd love for you to be in that room.
And if you know someone who'd belong there too, bring them with you. The best communities are built by the people in them.
With you,
Linda
